APTSOURCE’S OPENSOURCE TRANSFORMATION INITIATIVE

Aptsource has conducted extensive research on open source tools ,technologies and products to evaluate functional maturity , technical standards and overall readiness to be applied for building enterprise class solutions to fulfill market requirements across horizontals as well as select verticals . It has carefully selected ,validated and assembled packages of multiple solution components for quick turnaround of business solutions meant for meeting varied requirements of the enterprise . The solution initiative can be broadly classified under the following heads:

The traditional open source business model relies on shifting the commercial value away from the actual products and generating revenue from the 'Product Halo,' or ancillary services like systems integration, support, tutorials and documentation. However Aptsource has a little unconventional take with open source through adoption of a slightly different strategy that may be referred to as “Open source commercialization through Software assembly “ .The end result is a Product Suite comprised of open source components , common infrastructure components and proprietary extensions . Such complex Integration of open source products running on disparate technologies is made possible through a proprietary technology integration framework developed by the Aptsource team which is its own IP resting on the principles of software reuse and Service Oriented Architecture . The key differentiator and benefits of Aptsource’s Assembly process are derived from software not being bought or built, but harvested from existing software components. These reusable components come from existing or transformed SOA services and open source software. Aptsource uses open source software to build the infrastructure and interface framework and SOA services to provide the application-level business logic.
